Cadets like Connie, Sasha, Reiner, and Bertholdt are among the first to witness the invasion. The Scouts split up to warn the surrounding villages. 

Introduction of the Beast Titan

Squad Leader Mike Zacharias, the second-strongest soldier after Levi, serves as a decoy to distract the attacking Titans. He is successful until he encounters a new, ape-like Titan.

The "Beast Titan" is an intelligent, talking Titan that is significantly larger and hairier than the others. It speaks to Mike, showing an advanced, sinister curiosity.

The Beast Titan throws Mike's horse at him before commanding the other Titans to rip Mike apart. His death marks a terrifying turning point, proving there is a new, more strategic kind of enemy to be feared.
